Nelson Mandela's Corpse Picture Leaked
Just After A Day People Were Allowed to view the body of the late legend, Dr. Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela at the Union Buildings in Pretoria, A Picture of him in the coffin has been leaked.
Hoax or Fact:
A photo circulating online claims to show a leaked picture of Nelson Mandela's corpse taken in his coffin just after a day people were allowed to view his body at the Union Buildings in Pretoria. The claims are hoax; the picture does not show Nelson Mandela's corpse.
This photograph of the late legend Nelson Mandela supposedly showing his corpse has been spreading over social media. The South African leader died on 5 December 2013 in Houghton, Johannesburg, SA. Reportedly, the picture was first shared on Twitter by an account @nQOW_bee, where a running commentary about Mandela's funeral was tweeted. However, the image was later removed from Twitter, and the twitter account has been locked. The original photo, which is clearly visible on the AFP/Getty database, is actually an old Portrait of Nelson Mandela taken on 02 July 1991, in Durban, during the ANC's first national congress. The photo shows Mandela closing his eyes at the ANC conference. This picture is edited and falsely shown as a leaked corpse photo of Nelson Mandela. In response to this photo circulating online, AFP’s Photo Department clarified the same on Twitter:
