Stop buying deadly milk of amul.
This is my personal experience of amul gold milk, which i consume daily. This happened today morning when my mother-in-law took out the milk for our consumption. When she noticed that the milk has got sour she went to the respective vendor from whom we have purchased it, but the vendor refused to take it back. She came back home and thought of making cheese out of the milk and when we started boiling the milk, within 2 min what came out is shown in these pictures. It is some dangerous substance that came out. I thank to god that my family did not consumed this milk. I wonder what would have happened if we would have consumed this. I request everyone to stop taking amul milk, as we need to take strict actions to stop amul from making this deadly milk.

Mixture of hoax and facts.
The story shared heavily on Facebook and other social networking websites raised concerns that a product of Amul's Gold Milk bought by Neha Tomar's family has turned Sour and become Synthetic, rubber kind of stretchy mass after boiling -- suggesting that it is made of dangerous chemicals. In early October 2014, Neha Tomar posted the story on her Facebook account and subsequently filed a petition on Change.org to 'Stop amul india from making death in form of adultered milk which contains synthetic type of substances'. The story went viral from there, the facts about which we will be analyzing here.

Neha Tomar posted her grievance on Facebook saying that when her mother-in-law took out the Amul gold milk for their daily morning consumption, she noticed the milk got sour, and when the vendor refused to take back the spoiled milk, she boiled the milk to make cheese out of it, which is when the milk turned into synthetic rubber kind of stretchy mass within 2 minutes. After her story became popular garnering thousands of shares on Facebook, on 13 October 2014, Neha Tomar posted another Facebook update saying Amul executives have met her on 11 Oct. regarding the case and promised they will be looking into the matter.
About Amul Gold Milk
The product description on their website says Amul Gold is pasteurized, hygienic liquid milk to serve high energy needs. Importantly, the shelf life of Amul gold milk is 2 days, when refrigerated below 8°C. Note that the date of manufacture of the Amul milk in the case reported is not disclosed by Neha Tomar.
Amul's Explanation of Incident
On 14 Oct. 2014, Amul Company posted an explanation on Facebook to clarify the case in question. After meeting Neha Tomar on 11th and 13th October, investigating into the case and questioning her, it was revealed that they have used an expired product in the first place. The "use by" date of the Amul Gold Milk product was 9th of October, and notably, Amul said Neha contacted and reported Amul officials that the incident happened on 10th October, while her post on Facebook was on 9th October. When asked about this, they said the timing of her Facebook post has been changed to 10th Oct. They showed two screenshots of Neha's Facebook post to claim the same.
However, the change of dates by Neha Tomar is not true. Amul seems to have used two screenshots of Neha's Facebook post, one without logging in and other after logged in -- that's why the change in dates. If she has changed dates, her Facebook post would have shown 'Edited' feature where we could check the editing history (like in Amul's post). Refer to the screenshots in Image Gallery. The company also said they did not find any fault with the batches of the same Amul milk pointed by the complainant.
In their clarification post on Facebook, Amul Company explained that any natural milk (branded/unbranded) which is acidified (sour) in chilled conditions and then heated will form a curd mass having the stretching property similar to that of mozzarella cheese. In the video shown, the company simulated and demonstrated the case using fresh milk, acidified to the pH 5.2 and heated.
Along with the aforementioned clarification of the case, Amul Company stated that Neha Tomar, who is a senior legal officer at Public Health Foundation of India, has been misusing her office to publicize the false story on Amul, and that she has malafide intentions.
To conclude, Neha Tomar seems to have used an expired Amul gold milk product that turned sour, which again turned into stretchy mass after boiling -- as its natural property. Hiding this fact, the story is hyped on social media. In its clarification, Amul too has used an invalid point to justify themselves - that the consumer has changed the date of her Facebook post.
