Real interesting! Something i did not know, could come in handy..
A young man sprinkling his lawn and bushes with pesticides wanted to check the contents of the barrel to see
how much pesticide remained in it. He raised the cover and lit his lighter; the vapors ignited and engulfed
him He jumped from his truck, screaming.
His neighbor came out of her house with a dozen eggs and a bowl yelling: "bring me some more eggs!"
She broke them, separating the whites from the yolks. The neighbor woman helped her to apply the whites onto the young man's face. When the ambulance arrived and the EMTs saw the young man, they asked who had done this. Everyone pointed to the lady in charge.
They congratulated her and said: "You have saved his face."
By the end of the summer, the young man brought the lady a bouquet of roses to thank her. His face was like a baby's skin.
A Healing Miracle for Burns:
Keep in mind this treatment of burns is being included in teaching beginner fireman. First Aid consists of first spraying cold water on the affected area until the heat is reduced which stops the continued burning of all layers of the skin. Then, spread the egg whites onto the affected area.
One woman burned a large part of her hand with boiling water. In spite of the pain, she ran cold faucet water on her hand, separated 2 egg whites from the yolks, beat them slightly and dipped her hand in the solution. The whites then dried and formed a protective layer.
She later learned that the egg white is a natural collagen and continued during at least one hour to apply layer upon layer of beaten egg white. By afternoon she no longer felt any pain and the next day there was hardly a trace of the burn. 10 days later, no trace was left at all and her skin had regained its normal color. The burned area was totally regenerated thanks to the collagen in the egg whites, a placenta full of vitamins.
Since this information could be helpful to everyone: Please pass it on?
One hopes never to be needing it, but just in case:...
A simple but effective way to treat burns with the help of egg white.
This method is used in the training of firemen.
When sustaining a burn, regardless the degree, the first aid is always placing the injured part under running cold water till the heat subsides. And next spread the egg white over the injury.
Someone burned a large part of her hand with boiling water. Despite the pain she held her hand under running water, then took two eggs, parted the yolk from the egg white and slightly beat the egg white and put her hand in it. Her hand was so badly burned that the egg white dried and formed a white film. Later she heard that the egg is a natural collagen.
And during the next hour layer upon layer, she administered a white layer on her hand. That afternoon she didn't feel any more pain and the next day there hardly was a red mark to see. She thought she would have an awful scar but to her astonishment after ten days there was no sign of the burn, the skin had it's normal colour again!
The burned area had been totally regenerated thanks to the collagen, in reality a placenta full of vitamins.
This advice can be useful for everyone. Circulate it!
Hoax or Fact:
The claim is that Egg white is a natural collagen with vitamins that can regenerate the burnt skin. It states that spreading the egg white onto the burnt area is in fact a first aid treatment taught to firefighters after spraying cold water to reduce the heat. This is not a fact.
These messages, in various forms, have been circulating since years, through emails and other social networking websites, some of which also suggested to place the burnt area in a bag of flour. Firstly, as mentioned in the message, firefighters are NOT trained to treat burns with egg white. The first aid procedure fireman follow is to ventilate the fire scene, reduce the heat of burns and then hand over the burnt victims to medical professionals. The burn remedy mentioned in the story is one among those 'conventional treatments' followed by people, while treating burnt skin with various oils, poultices, salves, and egg whites, or even flour - when no other dressings are available. However, these are not recommended by medical professionals, one because they are not really effective, and two, because they can even have adverse effects on skin. For example, egg white is a good medium for bacteria and other micro-organisms, and when it is applied over burnt-open skin, there is every possibility of infections. In fact there are few cases where people used this egg white remedy and the burnt victim ended up with allergic reaction.
According to Mayo Clinic, in case of Minor burns (first and second degree), as a first aid, it is advised to immerse the burnt area in cool water, and then cover it loosely with dry, sterile gauze. In case of severe (third degree) burns, it is suggested NOT to immerse in cold water, as this can lead to a sudden drop in body temperature (hypothermia) and then deteriorate your blood pressure and circulation (shock). From the reference section below, you can read about the detailed first aid process in various types of burns.
Mayo clinic clearly mentions not to apply egg whites, butter or ointments to burns as it can cause infection.
Therefore these stories are hoax, using egg white to treat, heal or regenerate burnt skin is not recommended by medical experts. The messages need not be shared.
