Parallel Universe; Mysterious City Floating in the Clouds Over Foshan Guangdong, China.
1. Huge Mysterious City Floating in the Clouds Over Foshan Guangdong, China (Video).
2. Mysterious City Appears in Sky above China.
Hoax or Fact:
A short clipping (shown in the first video) shared heavily online claims to show what is popularly called as the Parallel Universe, or a mysterious city floating in the clouds over Foshan Guangdong in China. Some stories even called the mysterious and bizarre apparition in the sky as some kind of UFO (Unidentified Flying Object) or an Alien city. Although it created lot of curiosity among sky watchers, UFOlogists and general public, the 'floating city' in the clouds over China is most probably a Fata Morgana (a type of mirage) image of Skyscrapers.
The Claims and Origin
In early October 2015, thousands of people reportedly witnessed a ghostly alien city floating in the clouds over Foshan in the Guangdong province of China. The footage of the “floating city” in the sky that lasted only a few minutes before it disappeared was reported by YouTube channel of Paranormal Crucible, which mostly shares weird and paranormal sightings like this. It is also said that some people in the province of Jiangxi, China, have reportedly seen a similar cloud city a few days later.
Some conspiracy theorists suggested the apparitions that appeared like floating cities could be the result of the latest Project Blue Beam technology (a popular conspiracy theory) in order to check how residents of cities would react.
Not the First Time
This is not the first time such a giant, floating city was spotted hovering in the skies of China. The same video from Paranormal Crucible talked about the appearance of a similar city with skyscrapers that was supposedly seen back in 2011 in Huangshan City of southern Anhui province. It is the third picture in Image Gallery that looked more like tall buildings or skyscrapers with trees.
The YouTube video coming from Paranormal Crucible channel mentions its video source as the Chinese news CH52, wherein the translated version of the video title mentions the speculations that it could be some kind of mirage caused due to reflection.
Generally speaking, recent technological developments in the use of holographic devices can project life-like movie images onto clouds, so such a display can be a naturally generated optical illusion. But as a matter of fact, weather experts have explained that the current apparition of skyscrapers in clouds over China is a common optical illusion called Fata Morgana. The phenomenon of Fata Morgana occurs when rays of light bend as they pass through different density media, like air of different temperatures as in a heat haze. But because our brains are programmed to assume that light travels in a straight line, so when it bends we automatically think the object is where it appears to us. Fata Morgana can be seen on land or sea; distant objects such as boats sometimes appear distorted and inverted -- even looking like skyscrapers because the set of images of moving boat become stacked. An example of Fata Morgana Mirages is explained in the second video, where the cameraman sees a bus and few people getting down (as if they are floating in the air), but only ends up to learn it was nothing there. It was the Fata Morgana Mirage of the bus and people on road who were actually present in some other place nearby. Pointing to the current hovering image in sky, a reader of metro.co.uk suggested that it originally appeared over Hastings (refer to the last two pictures in Image Gallery).
So in short, the mysterious 'floating city' of skyscrapers that appeared over the skies of China is not any Parallel Universe, UFO, or alien or something, it is most probably a type of mirage image (optical illusion) of skyscrapers that got displaced above and reflected over skies (Fata Morgana). It is the tricks of Temperature and Light deceiving the usual human eye perception.
