Analysis:

These emails, in various forms and formats, are being sent to random users since few years, claiming that the recipient has won big prize money or a Car in Chevrolet lottery/draw/promotion. They are not facts!

Claiming to originate from the Chevrolet automobile company (UK), the email informs the recipient that he has won a brand new Chevrolet Cruse car and a huge cash prize, asking him to contact their claims manager with his personal details. Other versions of the emails claim to come from Chevrolet Motors Email Lottery Promotion, to say that the email address of the recipient is randomly selected — as a lucky winner of big prize money and a brand new Chevrolet Captiva car. Again, to file his prize claim, the recipient is asked to contact their Customer Service Unit. In an attempt to add credibility to their claims, the scammers show pictures of the Chevrolet cars, sometimes with links to them, also mentioning some fake winners in the past. Interestingly, they also advise the recipient to keep his winning information very confidential, as a part of their security policy.

There is no such lottery, promotion or draw called Chevrolet Motors Email Lottery Promotion that gives away huge prize money and brand new cars randomly through email. On their Facebook page named , in response to such queries, Chevrolet Europe calls these emails fake and that they did not originate from Chevrolet. People who receive such emails are advised not to respond or supply any personal information with the scammers, whose prime intention is to get into dialog and steal money and personal information from you. Note that scammers often use such popular brand names to trick people and obtain money and other gains.
