1 lemon = 100 small bulbs power.
Create a Lemon Battery that lights an LED (Light-emitting Diode).
Hoax or Fact:
The video message claims to show how to create a lemon battery with just a lemon and an LED (Light-emitting Diode), that can light it up for up to 5 days. It is not a fact, the message is a hoax.
This video has been widely circulating on Facebook and other social networking platforms. The source of this video comes from a YouTube channel of 'Science Hacks And Beyond' that shares such variety of science stuff - also pranks sometimes. This video was in fact a joke, that was later confirmed and mentioned within the description of the video.
Generally, a battery produces electricity when there is a chemical reaction between two different metals, like copper and zinc that are placed in an acidic solution acting as an electrolyte. The common lemon can in fact serve as the acidic
medium electrolyte for generation of electricity, but it needs two different metals inserted into it. A copper penny/wire and zinc galvanized nail inserted into lemon will work as the electrodes to make a battery and generate electricity. You can chain and combine such lemon batteries in series together and get enough power to light an LED as explained in the second video.
