Various messages doing rounds on social media sites, especially in India, stated that the veteran Bollywood actor Vinod Khanna has passed away. The death claims surfaced online after the actor was hospitalized and a picture of him in hospital went viral on social media. The death claims, however, are not facts; the actor is reportedly doing well and recovering.

On 31st March 2017 the 70-year-old-actor Vinod Khanna was rushed to Sir H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre in Girgaum, Mumbai, due to severe dehydration. Soon a picture showing him in a bad shape in the hospital went viral on social media. The photograph showed Vinod Khanna quite pale in hospital attire and his body transformation shocked everyone. There came speculations that the actor and former BJP Lok Sabha member was diagnosed with bladder cancer and then started social media rumours of his death. However on 9th April, the hospital released a medical bulletin stating Vinod Khanna is getting better. Later his son and actor Akshaye Khanna too said that his father is doing better. Therefore, the death stories of the actor Vinod Khanna are hoaxes.
After picture of the actor in hospital became viral online, social media users expressed wishes for his speedy recovery. His family thanked his well-wishers for the same, and also requested to respect their privacy. The actor appeared last in Shah Rukh Khan Starrer 2015 film Dilwale.
Update
The Bollywood actor Vinod Khanna passed away on 27th April 2017 at the age of 70 years. He was reportedly suffering with Bladder Cancer since many years.
