Analysis:
Starting since early 2016, we have been seeing many stories on social media sites claiming that a number of popular Hollywood celebrities are leaving their city lives and moving to small towns across America citing reasons like they are tired of their current lifestyles and have found a ‘relaxed lifestyle’ and ‘genuine loving people’ in those small towns. As we are going to explain below, the claims are nothing but hoaxes.
None of the aforementioned claims are reported in any credible news outlets. These false claims that many popular Hollywood celebrities are leaving their ‘Hollywood lifestyles’ and moving to small towns in America have in fact originated from fantasy news websites and/or satirical publications. Another website McKenzie Post has been publishing many such stories since early 2016. The stories that Brad Pitt and Angelina Moving to Breaux Bridge in Louisiana, Tom Cruise Moving to Beaver Falls in Pennsylvania and Justin Bieber Moving to Sandy in Oregon have all originated from McKenzie Post articles, which as mentioned in the website’s contact information, are satire or pure fantasy:
