A story viral on social media and WhatsApp purports to show Wimbledon Champion Novak Djokovic has a Beautiful Lord Krishna Painting mounted on his Home Wall. The picture in fact shows Novak Djokovic playing with his son, in the background of which is the alleged painting of Hindu Lord Krishna mounted over wall. Although some viewers suspected its authenticity for probablity of photoshop, the picture is real.

Novak Djokovic Having Krishna Painting at Home

On 14th July 2019, Novak Djokovic won his fifth title after beating Roger Federer in longest Wimbledon final match. Later the picture of him playing with his kid surfaced on Twitter and WhatsApp among others. It ignited confusion whether the large painting of Lord Shri Krishna in the background is real or not. The beautiful painting depicts Lord Krishna during the Rasa Leela, i.e. the ‘Dance of Divine Love’.

The picture is real – the Wimbledon Champion Novak Djokovic shared it himself on Twitter earlier in August 2018. He shared the picture on a lighter note saying – Kids’ Day continues! It shows Novak Djokovic playing with kids in his house, according to International Business Times website ibtimes.co.in. The picture resurfaced and went viral after he won the 2019 Wimbledon title.

Seeing the Hindu lord painting in his home, people raised questions whether Novak Djokovic follows or believes in concepts related to Hinduism. In an interview published in April 2018, Novak Djokovic credited Yoga, Meditation and Vegan diet for his success in tennis. Below is an old video from past showing the Tennis star talking about his Yoga routine. Novak also went Gluten-free after he came to know about his gluten intolerance in 2010.

Novak Djokovic visited India in December 2014 for International Premier Tennis League and said he liked Indians for their kindness and hospitality. Coming back to the story, yes, the picture shows Wimbledon Champion Novak Djokovic having a large painting of Lord Krishna at Home.
