A picture circling heavily on various sectors of social media comes with a shocking story that Pakistan Cricketer Shahid Afridi’s daughter Asmara has passed away. The picture shows a girl child wrapped in white cloth with red rose petals on her body. Some versions also showed another picture of Afridi standing alongside his daughter on a hospital bed, saying she was battling with Cancer, which she allegedly lost. The stories about Shahid Afridi’s daughter’s death wishing prayers for her soul and asking to share the same soon went viral on social media sites. But as a matter of fact, there was no such official news.

In March 2016, Shahid Afridi’s daughter Asmara was in fact hospitalized for some undisclosed health condition and she went through a surgery (the picture in hospital shows the same). But later, Afridi had thanked his well wishers on Facebook for their good wishes, suggesting his daughter Asmara was recovering well.

However, there are no credible reports of the death of his daughter from the cricket fraternity or news channels, which imply the stories circling on social media are not facts and simply rumours. As far as the girl wrapped in white cloth is concerned, she is not Afridi’s daughter, and appears to be a look-alike.
