About ‘Rowdy’ Roddy Piper
Born Roderick Toombs in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in Canada, he became popular as ‘Rowdy’ Roddy Piper in World Wrestling Federation, now the WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment). Piper often appeared in a Scottish kilt and came to the wrestling ring puffing on bagpipes. He also found Hollywood stardom later, with movies like They Live (1988). Roddy Piper had more than 30 titles to his name in his wrestling career and was also inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame 2005.


Death and Illness
The pro wrestling legend Rowdy Roddy Piper died on Friday 31 July 2015 at his home in Hollywood, with reports saying he had a heart attack in his sleep. In 2006, Piper was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, but in November 2014 he announced that he was cancer free.
