Case Registered

Based on a complaint of the victim’s son, Delhi Police registered a case against Prakash Jarwal, Kapil Nagar and others. Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Atul Thakur said, a case under IPC sections 386 (extortion), 306 (abetment of suicide) and 506 (criminal intimidation) along with other sections was registered.

Response of the AAP MLA Prakash Jarwal

Prakash Jarwal is the AAP MLA from Deoli and a member of Delhi Jal Board (DJB). He denied the allegation, claiming it is an attempt to trap him and added he would be proved innocent. Prakash Jarwal said he did not meet the Dr. Rajendra Singh in the past 8-10 months. The MLA alleged that in 2017, Singh appeared in a TV sting operation on the tanker mafia and his tankers were blacklisted. He said the doctor took loans from a number of people, including Kapil Nagar saying he would use it to pay off his other loans.

On the other hand, Jarwal said payments of the doctor were not stopped by DJB. He said no payments were made due to COVID-19 lockdown and added they would meet him after the lockdown and resolve the issues. The MLA also admitted while speaking on phone he said certain things in the heat of the moment, claiming he apologized to the doctor. For your information, Prakash Jarwal was arrested earlier in May 2014 for allegedly assaulting a Delhi Jal Board engineer.

As of this writing, case is registered and police investigation is going on. It will reveal the complete details of the doctor suicide incident and reasons behind it. It may also find out about the alleged involvement of the AAP MLA and his aide in the Doctor suicide.
