A picture message doing rounds on social media in different languages alleges to show Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal sitting close to Prabha Minj Muni, Human Trafficker selling minor girls and women from Jharkhand. It claims Police arrested the woman yesterday and no media outlets reported the news. The photograph is real; however the claims as such are mixture of hoax and facts explained here.

About the Photograph of Kejriwal Sitting Close to Prabha Muni

The photograph of Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal with Prabha Minj Muni went viral on social media earlier in 2018 also. It in fact became popular after Police arrested the woman accused of running a human trafficking racket and triggered a row in India’s capital Delhi. Unlike the claims, many media outlets reported about the – old incident – at the time.

To clarify the matter, a senior police officer said Prabha Minj Muni used to lure girls to their NGO with false promises of getting them jobs in Delhi. After the women reached Delhi, they were sold as part of the human trafficking racket. Prabha Muni and her husband Rohit Muni in fact ran two NGOs Sampoorn Gharelu Kaamgaar Sarvekshan Evam Utthan Samiti and Sampoorn Adivasi Sanskritik Utthan Manch. Under the guise of NGOs, they used to secretly operate a placement agency. Investigations later revealed the couple made crores of rupees from the human trafficking racket. They used to transport women, including minors from the rural areas of Uttarakhand to metropolitan cities across India. Reportedly, the woman used to boast her closeness with Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and others.
