Was Parineeti Removed as Beti Bachao Campaign Ambassador?

As a matter of fact, Parineeti Chopra was the Haryana Government’s Brand Ambassador for ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao‘ campaign only for one year. Times Fact Check clarified Parineeti Chopra was not removed as Beti Bachao campaign ambassador for her anti CAA response. Likewise, Asian News International ANI explained on Twitter the actress was the face of the campaign only for one year, ending in April 2017. It was way before Citizenship Amendment Act 2019 came into existence.

The aforementioned article on ThePrint website in fact mentions a report in Hindi newspaper Dainik Jagran quoting project director Yogendra Malik confirming the actress is no longer part of the campaign. However, the article also mentions Yogendra Malik could not tell when the actress was removed.

To conclude, Parineeti Chopra was not removed as Beti Bachao Ambassador after her anti CAA tweet. She was the face of the campaign for Haryana Government only for one year, ending in April 2017. The claims are therefore baseless rumors.

Facts About Removal of Sushant Singh as Host from Savdhaan India

Earlier, after similar allegations became popular in case of Sushant Singh, Star Bharat channel issued a statement clarifying the matter. It said Sushant’s contract as host of the show Savdhaan India ends on 15th January 2019 and the termination has nothing to do with his political views. The channel also mentioned the next format of Savdhaan India program does not require a presenter, so there was no need of a new contract. The channel suggested the messages claiming Sushant Singh was removed from Savdhaan India due to his participation in the ongoing protests against Citizenship Amendment Act are rumors.

On the other hand, Sushant Singh claimed he had no clue about the last day of the shoot and he only received a message late night December 16 informing him of his last day shoot on December 20. The rumors began doing rounds online when Sushant responded to a tweet after he posted his stint with Savdhaan India has ended.

Earlier on 5th December 2019, before Citizenship Amendment Act 2019 came into law, there was a post on India Forums website indiaforums.com supporting the Star Bharat’s statement.
