Not Child Sacrifice in Rajasthan Village

Yes, what you see in the video and pictures is in fact a part of Shobha Yatra (procession of glory) on Dussehra in Rajasthan’s Bhilwara district. As reported by The New Indian Express website newindianexpress.com, once the video went viral, Police got frenzy and went on to check in the Khakhla village. They were surprised to learn the traditional procession is in fact a magic trick played by the villagers to depict a child’s head on a plate. Bhilwara Police also met the boy in the video and confirmed no harm has been caused to him. They explained the incident on Twitter also shared a picture of the boy after the alleged child sacrifice in Rajasthan.

Interestingly, the Khakhla village is known for its magic and witchcraft. The villagers play various tricks like inserting a sword through the stomach and balancing stones on the tip of a sword. In fact, some messages in circulation also said the boy’s head was cut and later joined after some time. As per the village tradition, after the completion of Dussehra Navratri every year, Jawara Visarjan procession takes place. Then the villagers exhibit various magic tricks – for the sake of entertainment.

So, the claim that the pictures and video show a shocking child sacrifice in Rajasthan village Bhilwara is just a hoax. In this case, the bed on cot had an inside opening on which the boy was sleeping; acting like dead. The plate on which the boy’s head is laid, most certainly had a hole. And the blood appearance in plate and on sword is in fact paint. You can also see the paint marks on the body of another man wearing turban.
