Story:
The Active Shooter at YouTube Headquarters is Sam Hyde

Other Versions
1. The YouTube shooter has been identified as 32 years old man, Sam Hyde
2. First picture of San Bruno shooter leaked out
Fact Check:
Soon after the shooting at YouTube Headquarters in Northern California, certain stories on social media sites claimed to show the identified shooter. While some mentioned the shooter is Sam Hyde, others showed pictures of various YouTubers. As explained below, the claims in question are hoaxes.
The Unfortunate Incident
On Tuesday 3rd of April 2018, someone began shooting inside the YouTube Headquarters in San Bruno, California. The suspect shot three people and died later. The shooting at the Headquarters of YouTube, the Google-owned video sharing service, created an alarm in America and on social media across world.
Shooter at YouTube Headquarters
Soon after the unfortunate shooting incident took place, stories emerged saying the Shooter at YouTube Headquarters is Sam Hyde, an internet comedian. The posts on social media also included a photograph of Sam Hyde carrying an assault weapon. However, in the wake of mass shootings in America, the comedian Sam Hyde is frequently named the shooter. Earlier, Sam Hyde was named in the aftermath of shootings in San Bernardino, Baton Rouge, Orlando, and Texas Church among others. Therefore, the current claim is again part of that infamous hoax.
Apart from mentioning Sam Hyde, there were also stories supposedly showing photograph of the identified shooter at YouTube headquarters. The first picture showing a woman is feminist media critic Anita Sarkeesian; not the actual shooter. The other picture of woman shows BuzzFeed reporter Jane Lytvynenko, not the shooter again. Likewise, none of the other three pictures of men actually show the shooter – they are YouTubers Dugan Ashley, Matt Jarbo and Dragon Lord.
The Actual Shooter Identified
The initial reports from the incident only revealed about involvement of a woman, who probably killed herself after the shooting. Later authorities disclosed the identity of the shooter at YouTube headquarters as 39-year-old Nasim Najafi Aghdam from San Diego (picture below). Nasim Aghdam, a YouTuber, shot three people before killing herself. The three victims are undergoing emergency treatment, as of this writing. The reason for shooting, according to authorities, is the shooter was angry at the YouTube’s policies for censoring her videos.
