Story:
Recently, one person was admitted to a Wellknown nursing home at pune, due to severe chest pain. He had an earlier attack in 2012 and was under treatment. The doctors now suggested Angiography.
Upon undergoing Angiography at multi speciality Hospital Doctors diagnosed multiple blockages for which Angioplasty was ruled out and instead, suggested ‘Bypass Surgery’.
That evening, he was brought home as doctor suggested his heart being very weak, bypass could be performed only after 10 – 15 days. Meanwhile, after discussing the matter with relatives and close friends, fresh information came from a family friend. A new treatment known as – “Chelox therapy, Laser therapy & Chelation Therapy” has been introduced into the Indian medical theatre. With this therapy, a patient who has to undergo by-pass need not do so.
Instead, the patient is given about 30 bottles of IV fluids in which certain medicament are injected. The medicine cleans the system and removes all blockages from the heart and the arteries.
The number of bottles given may increase depending upon the age-factor and health of the patient. Cost per bottle may be around Rs.1300/- .

It claims a new treatment known as “Chelox therapy, Laser therapy & Chelation Therapy” is introduced into the Indian medical theatre using which a heart patient can avoid bypass surgery. Allegedly, the method involves injection of IV fluids along with some prescribed medicines. The message claims the therapy cleans the body-system and removes all blockages from the heart and the arteries. Like explained below, the claims as such are mixture of hoax and facts.
About Chelation Therapy
Chelation Therapy is not new, it is an old treatment used in the early 20th century to treat toxic metal poisoning. When metals or minerals build up in your body, they can cause harm in excess. Chelation Therapy is useful in Mercury, Lead and Arsenic poisoning. It involves administration of a drug called Chelator with magnetically charged pocket. The drug hangs onto metal deposits in patient’s body – and flushes them out through urine. Depending on the chelating agent and the type of poisoning, the procedure is intravenous, intramuscular or oral.
Chelation therapy should take place under very careful medical supervision because of its possible side effects and inherent risks including death, in case of wrong dose. As of this writing, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved Chelation therapy only to treat metal poisoning, as well as for iron overload (hemochromatosis) and some types of anemia. Theory is that Artery plaques contain calcium, and the chelating drug Disodium EDTA binds to this mineral. Then chelation therapy allegedly clears calcified blocks and removes them out of your body.
