Certain stories in heavy circulation online purport to show a disturbing picture of Coke Causing Kidney Full of Stones. While some versions say the kidney condition is of a man who drank Coca-Cola every day for nearly 40 years, others warn it is what Coke does to your Kidneys. The disturbing picture does in fact show a human kidney full of stones, but the claim that it is the result of drinking Coke is a hoax.
Human Kidney Full of Stones
Some viewers shocked at the sight of the disturbing image showing lot of stones inside the human organ thought it could be a case of Gall Stones. The picture below shows an image of human Gall bladder removed because it was full of Gallstones. So, the picture in question is certainly a case of Kidney full of stones. The picture was shared on social media by some medical professionals, like here and here. To those wondering if so many stones can really form inside human kidney, in mid-2015, doctors removed 420 tiny kidney stones from a Chinese patient (picture down below). It is important to note; the condition was attributed to excessive amount of Tofu in his daily diet.

Not a Case of Coke Causing Kidney Full of Stones
The disturbing photograph is often shared by people to invoke Trypophobia. Contrary to the claim in question, the picture is also shared online as a warning to drink enough water. When you do not drink enough water, the salts, minerals and other substances will not be absorbed properly and the remains will not be expelled through urine. They stick together forming Kidney stones. By appearance, the stones inside the Kidney are probably the deposit of some Calcium compound.

Generally, it is difficult to remove so many stones in such cases. A medical professional on Facebook suggested the patient might have had multiple Kidney Cysts, and so the organ is removed.

Coca Cola and the Risk of Kidney Stones
In general, a number of factors can contribute to formation of kidney stones. They also include the food, drinks, the amount of water you consume, and the genetic factors among others.
