Be understanding !!! A Japanese doctor offers excellent advice on preventing COVID-19
New coronavirus may not show symptoms for several days (14-27 days). How can one know if a person is infected? By the time he has a fever and / or a cough and goes to the lung hospital, the patient may have 50% fibrosis, and then it’s too late! Taiwanese experts provide simple self-monitoring that we can do every morning:
Deep Breath
Take a deep breath and hold your breath for more than 10 seconds. If you can do this successfully without coughing and without difficulty, without anxiety or chest tightness, it shows that you do not have fibrosis and generally indicate no infection. Check yourself every morning in a fresh air environment The Japanese physician treating COVID-19 provides the best advice on preventing this:
Drink Water
Everyone should make sure the mouth and throat are always moist. Drink some water every 15 minutes. Why not? Even if the virus gets into your mouth, drinking water or other fluids will help wash it down the esophagus into the stomach. When the virus is in the stomach – the hydrochloric acid in your stomach will kill the germs. If you do not drink enough water regularly, the virus can enter the airways and into your lungs, which is very dangerous to get.

Fact Check:
A message doing rounds widely on social media claims to present couple of self-monitoring methods from a Japanese Doctor for Prevention of Deadly Infection of Coronavirus, COVID-19. Claims About a Japanese Doctor for Prevention of COVID-19 Infection
The message claims to come from a Japanese doctor offering excellent advice on preventing COVID-19. It starts by saying symptoms of Coronavirus may not show up for up to 14-27 days. It says, by the time one goes to the hospital with symptoms, the patient may already have 50% Fibrosis. So, it mentions about some Taiwanese experts providing simple self-monitoring that can be done every morning. It tells people to take a deep breath and hold it for more than 10 seconds. If done successfully, without any kind of discomfort, the message says, you do not have fibrosis and generally indicates no infection.
The message also suggests people to keep their mouth and throat moist always, drinking water every 15 minutes. If the Coronavirus gets into your mouth, the message says, the water helps it wash down into stomach, where the Hydrochloric acid will kill it.
Actual Facts
According to CDC, the symptoms of Coronavirus, COVID-19 may appear in as few as two days, or as long as 14 days after exposure. For this reason, many governments are following an isolation period of 14 days for people returning from endemic areas. The message doing rounds on social media does not mention the names of the Japanese physician or Taiwanese experts.
Another version of story mentioning Stanford University
Holding Your Breath for More Than 10 Seconds
A very similar message is doing rounds online claiming to come from Stanford University. Lisa Kim at Stanford Health Care confirmed to Mother Jones website motherjones.com the post is not from Stanford. On the other hand, Dr. Robert Legare Atmar, an infectious disease specialist at Baylor College of Medicine, rubbished the claim. He told The Associated Press there’s no clear evidence Coronavirus causes 50 percent Pulmonary Fibrosis. Holding your breath for 10 seconds can tell you if you are anxious or have respiratory compromise, but not necessarily indicate Fibrosis and Coronavirus infection.
Drinking Water Every 15 Minutes
Dr. William Schaffner, an infectious-diseases expert at Vanderbilt University told The Associated Press the claims are not correct. He said it is a fact, medical professionals typically recommend healthy and sick people on keeping up fluid intake to keep their mucus membranes moist. However, he said there is no clear indication it directly protects you against complications. If just Hydrochloric acid can kill COVID-19, scientists across the world working on its treatment and vaccine should have prescribed it long time back.
So, the self-check methods for prevention of Coronavirus, COVID-19 are misleading and not true as such. For your information, in our article, we have presented some precautions to avoid the deadly viral infection spread across the world.
