Read story:

A controversial website is to offer “celebrity sperm” for £15,000 to fame-obsessed women desperate for a star child. The Fame Daddy site, which promises “top quality celebrity surrogate fathers” including footballers, actors and rock stars, is to launch next year It claims it will have 40 different donors for women to choose from, including a former professional footballer, an actor, a genius, a rock star and an aristocrat.

Donors will remain anonymous – but would-be mums will be able to identify their area of achievement and other personal attributes Fees start at £15k but the website claims the investment will provide them with “a proven winner” who will get “a head start in life”.

Fame Daddy boss Dan Richards admitted that the clinic has no real sperm samples “as of yet”.

However he said that the site’s register of possible donors already includes a retired ATP tennis pro, retired English cricketers and a multi-platinum recording artists.

Mr Richards said: “Our vision is to help women give their children the very best chance in life.

“To be able to harvest potential from the global gene pool, rather than from the more limited selection of the men she comes into direct contact with, is a major evolutionary leap for women.

“Whether it is talent on the stage or pitch, having a world-beating voice, or just being very beautiful, Fame Daddy will have the perfect celebrity surrogate daddy.”

Analysis:

The messages relate to a ‘This Morning’ show on ITV1, where a man named Dan Richards, claiming himself as the Marketing Director of Fame Daddy, had said that they have launched world’s “first celebrity sperm donor service” to match up women with celebrity sperm donors that included a former Premier League footballer. Their official website also has a video in the name of ‘Fame Daddy Promo Film’ which talks about the same. However, all these messages and the Fame Daddy celebrity sperm donation service is a hoax.

Post this show on ‘This Morning’, ITV1 realized that they were tricked by the company, and when investigated, Dan Richards was actually found to be an actor working for a TV production company who in fact disguised himself as the Marketing Director of Fame Daddy in the show to mis lead the audience of the program greatly. With their website quoting as the world’s first celebrity sperm donor service and their promotional video on homepage, the company managed to convince other media, also appearing on radio and in newspapers.

The Fame Daddy company and their celebrity sperm donor service are found to be hoax. There was also a discussion with Dan Richards of Fame Daddy on This Morning, followed by its apologies later. ITV1 apologized for the mistake saying:

We are very sorry that This Morning and our viewers were deliberately misled by this stunt.”

The ‘Fame Daddy Promo Film’ Youtube video on their website in fact looks like a spoof, listed in ‘comedy’ section. All this is mostly believed to be a marketing tactic of Fame Daddy to grab everyone’s attention. Therefore, the messages should not be believed. There is no such legitimate service called celebrity sperm donor service from Fame Daddy.

The messages need not be shared, instead, this article can be shared for spreading awareness and to avoid people being misled.

Hoax or Fact:
