Fact Check:
A set of images and a story doing rounds on social media sites purport to show Pictures of the Historic Sunken City of Shri Krishna, Dwarka (or Dvaraka) in Gujarat. They appear to show unusual, underwater pictures of a lion and other structures. Popular Hindu epic Mahabharata describes Dwarka as the city of Lord Krishna. Nonetheless, the claims are not true – the pictures are not from Dwarka.

Pictures from Sunken City Dwarka?
The claims in question are doing rounds on Twitter, Facebook and other online outlets. In early Jan. 2018, Postcard website postcard.news also published an article about the existence of ancient city Dwarka along with the three pictures used in the story.
Despite the claims and the wide circulation, the story is not true. The four pictures have nothing to do with Dwarka or Shri Krishna.
First Image

The first image of lion structure comes from an underwater cemetery and memorial park called Neptune Memorial Reef in Miami, Florida. The creator conceived it as the world’s largest man-made reef at a depth of 40 feet. You can see some such pictures in the website gallery of Neptune Memorial Reef at nmreef.com.
Second Image

The second picture is from December 2004 showing a Temple gopuram (tower) remains after a Tsunami in Tarangambadi near Eastern Coromandel Coast of India, Tamil Nadu. Note, the picture is part of an image taken from a different angle.
Remains after Tsunami in Tamil Nadu back in Dec. 2004
Third Image

The rectangular structure underwater is widely shown online as Port Royal from Jamaica. However, it is not true. The structures are again from Neptune Memorial Reef in Miami, Florida. You can see them in one of their videos shown below from timeframe 1:42.
Fourth Image

The last image is shared as underwater ‘ruins’ from ‘The Lost City of Atlantis‘ and Cuba’s underwater city. According to ancient lengends, Atlantis is a mythical underwater city. What you see in the picture on either side of the staircase are described as Sphinx statues. More importantly, the image is in circulation online since at least 2011. It is not any recent discovery of Dwarka city of Shri Krishna.
So, the messages claiming to show a set of images from the historic sunken city of Shri Krishna, Dwarka are just hoaxes. The images are in fact old and not related to Dwarka or Shri Krishna.
