Alexis Goggins is 7 year old girl from Detroit, Michigan. In December 2007, she and her mother Selietha Parker (30 years old) were traveling in her friend Aisha Ford’s car, when Parker’s ex-boyfriend Calvin Tillie (29) threatened them of death and forced them to drive to Six Mile Road. Instead, Ford pretended that her car needed gas and tried to report the incident to police. When Ford did not return from the gas station soon, Tillie fought with Parker, and using his handgun he shot her in the side of her head and in the arm. Before he could fire again, Alexis Goggins jumped over her seat between her mother and Tillie, and begged him not to shoot her mother. But Tillie, without any hesitation, shot 6 times at the girl.
Tillie was arrested at the crime scene after the police came. Parker was admitted to a hospital, but was later released. The first grader child, Alexis had to face gun shots on her eye, left temple, chin, cheek, chest and right arm. But surprisingly, she recovered well at the Children’s Hospital in Detroit after seven surgeries, which also included putting an artificial eye in place of her lost right eye. This is how Alexis has indeed protected her mother from the gun shots, surviving 6 bullets herself, and so was considered as an “angel from heaven”.
