Fact Check:

A heart-touching video in heavy circulation on social media allegedly shows a Martyr Army Officer’s Son Singing Soulful Song with Confidence. His father died in an operation against militants, and mother died of shock on hearing the news, it is said. It is also said the boy is studying in a boarding Army Public School. Although the song of the little boy is heart-touching, the messages suggesting his father is an Indian Army officer, who died in a militant-operation – leading to his mother’s death as well – are not true.

The alleged video of Army Officer’s Son Singing Soulful Song went viral on Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp. It was also shared on Facebook groups and unofficial fan pages of Indian Army. Furthermore, viewers even outpoured sympathetic comments for the ‘orphaned boy’. Contrary to the claims, the young singer, is a Pakistani boy Ghulam-e-Murtaza, who happens to be a social media star. His parents are very much alive. His father Nadeem Abbas is also a Pakistani singer, and both of them appear on Television programs. In fact, later in the video, you can see them singing together.

After the story went viral, a Facebook post of Ghulam-e-Murtaza cleared the same. So, the claim that the video of little boy shows a Martyr Army officer’s son singing soulful song with confidence is a hoax.

Song, a Tribute to Martyrs

The young boy Ghulam-e-Murtaza was singing the Hindi song “Baba mere, pyare baba” in December 2015 to pay tribute to the Martyrs of the Army Public School, Peshawar. On 16th December 2014, Pakistani Taliban terrorists attacked and killed 132 schoolchildren and few others. The tragic attack on innocent school children shocked the world at the time. You can watch the full song of the boy below.
