It says Russia paid multiple tribute to India with Band performing on popular songs “Jimmy Jimmy” and “Saare Jahaan se accha”. Nonetheless, the story saying Saare Jahaan Se Accha Played at FIFA World Cup closing ceremony is not true.

By all means the video shows a band of people performing on popular Bollywood song “Jimmy Jimmy Aaja” followed by Indian patriotic song “Saare Jahaan se Accha”. The associated story on social media said it was from FIFA World Cup 2018 Closing Ceremony in Moscow. The story garnered importance due to FIFA World Cup Closing Ceremony on 15th July 2018 at Luzhniki Stadium, Moscow. Russia however did not pay tribute to India that way during closing ceremony of FIFA World Cup.

What you see in the video is actually part of Spasskaya Tower International Military Music Festival held from 24th August to 3rd September 2017. As a matter of fact, the mega annual military music event took place at Red Square in Moscow. Military musicians from various countries present variety of national, artistic and military traditions of the world. In the 10th International Military Music Festival in 2017, a Tri-Services band from the Indian Armed Forces presented the performance you see in the video. Earlier in May 2018, a YouTube user shared the video with the title ‘Indian Army Band on Red Square‘. In particular, it carried the description given down below:
