Indira Gandhi International Airport (New Delhi) ranked worlds 2nd best where as Mumbai airport ranked world’s 3rd best. A survey has ranked the city’s international airport as the third best terminal globally in 2011.
The Airports Council International (ACI) gives away service quality awards annually . The survey was conducted at 180 airports across the world.
The Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA) handles 25 to 40 million passengers annually. Seoul’s Incheon has been adjudged as the best airport, followed by New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. Kuala Lumpur and Shenzhen airports stand at fourth and fifth positions. The South Korean terminal was ranked the best airport for the seventh consecutive year. ACI is the only global trade representative of airports with 580 members operating from 1,650 airports in 179 countries and territories. The passenger survey measures customer feedback on a range of service delivery parameters and tracks the customer experience at an airport from the time of arrival to the departure gate.
The information collected is analyzed against a customer’s expectation from the airport.

ACI(Airports Council International) is the association of airports across the world. It is a non profit organization, whose goals is to improve the operations of airports and promote professional excellence in airport management. ACI announced its annual Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards for 2011 at Montreal, 14 February 2012.
2011 ASQ Award Winners in various categories are listed below:
In Best Airport by Size, in the category of 25-40 million passenger size, the Delhi and Mumbai International airports were ranked second and third. This is a fact. In the same category, top honours went to Seoul Incheon airport. In other categories by size, top honors went to Guayaquil (2-5m), Nagoya (5-15m), Seoul Gimpo (15-25m), and Singapore (over 40m).
In Best Airport by Region, Cancun, Cape Town, Dubai, Malta, Ottawa, and Seoul Incheon, came out on top.
The ASQ Awards also recognized Best Airport by Region with Fewer than 2 Million Passengers: Keflavik, Mazatlan, Quebec City, and Upington.
Best Improvement went to Chongqing, Dubai, East London, Guayaquil, Montreal, and Palma de Mallorca.
