Angry Airport Employee Destroys a Plane After Getting Fired.
Analysis:
According to a YouTube video circulating heavily online, a Russian airport worker destroys a multi-million dollar airplane using a mechanical excavator – allegedly after being fired. The ‘destruction’ of the airplane shown in the video shared by Geek World YouTube Channel on 24 April 2016 is a fact, but as explained below, it is not determined whether it was done intentionally by an angry airport worker after getting fired.

About the Video
Shown in the short video is a yellow excavator raising its claw towards the three-engined Yak-40 craft, which stands alongside similar models. The plane rocks up and down as it is gutted by the excavator into its front part, opening a large hole near the cockpit. The story about the video and the claims was also reported in some media outlets like The Sun website thesun.co.uk, which is how it went viral online.
Reasons Behind the ‘Destruction’
It is to be noted that the video in question emerged earlier on Live Leak website liveleak.com in February 2015 with the cryptic title “Pilot owed some money tractor driver”. The ‘destruction’ of the airplane shown in the video is a fact, but it is not determined whether it was done intentionally by an angry airport worker after getting fired. On the contrary, there are certain aspects in the video that tend to suggest that the said airport employee could simply be doing his job of disposing off an old model of plane which is not in use.

As marked in the above picture, the plane(s) do not seem to have engine at the back and windshield on the front side. Moreover, UTair Aviation seems to have stopped using the Yak-40 aircrafts, and as a matter of fact, in April 2015, UTair announced it was to severely cut down their fleet by 44 aircraft due to their ongoing financial struggle. The appearance of similar other crafts in the video, no one trying to stop the said angry worker destroying the aircraft, and the peers laughing in the background suggest the possibility that it could be showing the disassembly of the craft in an Aircraft graveyard.
