Analysis:
A video clip that keeps circulating online shows a ‘Super’ Chameleon that quickly changes its skin color to match various vibrant shades of the sunglass frames it comes in contact with. People who thought it real started sharing it online and that is how the video went viral in the year 2009 when it first originated. The Super Chameleon video resurfaces every now and then, but what is shown is not a fact!

Chameleons do change their skin color to camouflage with their surroundings, but they take much longer time than what is shown in the video, and most species can only change into few colors. The video showing a Chameleon changing shades to electro beats when it comes in contact with fun colored shades is in fact a viral video clip produced by the Cutwater agency as an advertisement for Ray-Ban Sunglasses. Released in March 2009, the video was meant to promote Ray-Ban’s then-new color lines that came in many dazzling colors. The change in color of Chameleon is perhaps achieved by using some kind of digital trickery.
So the video of Super Chameleon changing into vibrant colors quickly is a hoax; it was an advertisement to promote new shades of Ray-Ban Sunglasses. In a similar ad for Nissan in the past, a video claimed to show a Plane landing on a pickup truck.
Hoax or Fact:
Hoax.
