On 24 September 2014, Franklin Doloquee reported a story published in two African news outlets; All Africa (AllAfrica.com) and The New Dawn (TheNewDawnLiberia.com) about 2 Ebola victims in African village to have “Risen from the Dead”. As per the story, two women in their 40s and 60s, died of the deadly Ebola virus in separate communities of Nimba County, Liberia, who, according to a local newspaper report, have reportedly resurrected before they were taken for burial, and are now walking among the living, causing panic among the locals. The story got wide attention also because the incident was mentioned in some credible news outlets like UK’s Daily Mirror (mirror.co.uk).

Both the aforementioned articles in African local media actually come with a title questioning if ‘Dead Ebola patients resurrect?,’ and there are no credible reports to address how the ‘Ebola Zombies’ were declared dead, and what made them so. On 5 October 2014, an article on Huzlers.com again claimed to report a breaking news saying Ebola victims in Africa are rising from the dead and there’s fear of Zombie Apocalypse!
