NH 66 road work got held up at Sadashivgad Karwar. As the collapsing of huge rock mountain was in process beneath the rock Shankar bhagwan idol is found & its security is done by Cobra Snake. Cobra is not allowing to remove the idol.

Couple of photographs and video clips in circulation on social media purport to show a Cobra Snake Safeguarding Ancient Shiva Idol at Sadashivgad Fort on a hill. Allegedly, the unusual sighting happened amidst the collapsing of a huge rock mountain, during NH 66 road work at Sadashivgad in Karwar outskirts of Indian State Karnataka. The Cobra was not allowing the removal of the Idol, it is said. Because of the unusual claims, the pictures and videos of the snake and the ancient idol soon went viral on social media. As a matter of fact, the pictures and the videos of the Cobra and the Idol are real, but the associated claims are not true.
No Such Incident in Sadashivgad
It is true, the district administration is carrying on the road widening process of National Highway-66 in Karwar region. But after the story became popular, the workers and officials of the contract company cleared that no such incident of a Snake safeguarding Idol has taken place there. Moreover, the idol seen in the videos does not appear to be of Lord Shiva. In particular, it appears to depict Sun God.


No Cobra Snake Safeguarding Ancient Shiva Idol
In reality, the videos in question show the mining and digging work near Kanherwadi village of Beed district in Maharashtra, in mid-April 2018. During digging, a historical Idol was found, and a Cobra snake measuring nearly five feet was also found nearby. As you can see in the second video, the snake was not leaving despite the proclainer machine throwing rocks around it. More importantly, in the video clip, nowhere near the Snake the Idol is visible. So, it is clear that the story about the Cobra Snake Safeguarding Ancient Shiva Idol at Sadashivgad is a hoax. The area in the video resembles Sadashivgad. So someone might have mistaken, and the rumor about the idol guarding snake spread on social media.
