Fact Check:
A ‘scary’ picture is doing rounds online alleging to show a ghostly face figure peeking out of Kitchen door a man captured in his flat at night. Zoomed in version of the photograph in fact shows what appears like face of a creepy creature with hands on the door. Accompanying messages also claim the man got scary after seeing the white ghost and ran away from his flat. Thankfully, there was no ghost – the creepy claims are not true and explained here.
About the ‘Photo of Ghost Behind Kitchen Door’
On 6th December 2020, reddit user OopySpoopyMan posted the photograph and the story in Ghost section. When others expressed suspicion over ghost claims, the user said two of his flat mates were at work and the other was out at a friend’s place. He also said he heard sounds like feet shuffling around, or clothes rubbing against each other. Apparently, the man said he is moving out of the flat after the ghost encounter and has informed his flat mates about the same. The photograph became popular because of the paranormal ghost claims with it.
About the Reddit User
We found the reddit user OopySpoopyMan in June 2018 posted another creepy story about ‘Hanging Man in the Door‘ in Nightmares section. Note, it mentioned about strange dreams he allegedly has occasionally.
Often during these dreams I’ll get incredibly freaked out and quickly leave my room, believing whatever I’ve seen to be real. But this doesn’t last long. I’ll usually see my cat walk in or out of the room calmly and realize nothing is wrong and I calm down. But last night I wasn’t able to run from what I saw.
So as per the usual, I open my eyes in the night to my very dark room. Light from the bathroom down the hall is spilling in as someone has used it and not turned the light off. I look around my room when in my doorway I see a silhouette of a man. He’s not standing in my doorway, but he is hanging upside down from the waist, his elongated arms dangling loosely close to the floor.
Ordinarily during one of these dreams I leave the room and calm down..
Again in August 2020, he posted a story about using Ouija board, asking tips for the first time use. Earlier in December 2017, his reddit post asked for a voice clip of Goofy yelling “We’re in Hell!” The post mentioned an email chroniclesofawesome@gmail.com, which as a matter of fact was associated to a YouTube channel of Joshua Griffin. Notably, one of the videos in the channel with ‘Creepy Piano Music‘ carries the description of ‘Ghosts of Horror Show’. It mentions the user as – Freelance musician and composer, writing dark and creepy music perfect of dark storytelling.

Staged Photograph, Not Ghost
The aforementioned facts suggest the ghost claims are related to a person writing dark and creepy music for dark storytelling. On the other hand, it is unusual as to why the photo capture is unclear. It is strange, the alleged ghost creature is hiding behind the doors to peek around. So, like some viewers suggested, the white transparent face is possibly someone wearing a party mask and pretending to be a ghost. The photograph is either part of a prank or just a staged one created for the creepy ghost story writing. The photo certainly does not show any ghost creature hiding behind kitchen door inside the reddit user’s flat.
