Kurt Cobain Predicted Donald Trump Presidency Back in 1993

Other Versions

In the end I believe my generation will surprise everyone. We already know that both political parties are playing both sides from the middle and we’ll elect a true outsider when we fully mature.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s not a business tycoon who can’t be bought and who does what’s right for the people. Someone like Donald Trump as crazy as that sounds. – Curt Cobain 1993

Analysis:

According to a story shared widely on social media and elsewhere online, Kurt Cobain, the lead singer of the rock band Nirvana, had Predicted Donald Trump Presidency back in 1993 itself. Surprisingly, quite many people got to believe the claim, which happens to be nothing but a hoax.

Origin of Story

Since August 2016 Facebook page ‘Trump Train‘ has been sharing an image of Kurt Cobain with a text story mentioning a supposed say of him suggesting that some business tycoon like Donald Trump, who can’t be bought and who does what’s right for the people, shall be elected by people as they mature. The Facebook post also carries a link to an article on website cooltobeconservative.com. Prior to Trump election as U.S. President the story was widely shared on Facebook and other online outlets, which is how it became popular.

Actual Facts

The Facebook post of ‘Trump Train’ did not mention any credible source of Kurt Cobain predicting Donald Trump Presidency. The mentioned reference article on Cool To Be Conservative website was published in Entertainment category, and the website does not carry any Disclaimer or Privacy Policy information. The source of their information is mentioned as another article on website yournewswire.com, which again mentions what is said by the Trump Train Facebook page and the Cook To Be Conservative website. Moreover, ‘Trump Train’ Facebook page has also been posting too good to be true stories related to UFOs and Giant Snake discoveries. Notably, there is no quote or saying from Kurt Cobain (who killed himself in 1994) to have suggested or predicted Donald Trump as President of USA in 1993. Such claims, therefore, are simply hoaxes.
