Today Delhi BJP MP Harshavardhan was beaten badly by public regarding *Note Ban*
BJP MP “Harsh Wardhan” got Beaten up in Delhi by Angry Public outside Bank but these pais Media doesn’t show all this on their channels…
A disturbing video that went viral online in late November 2016 claims to show that Delhi BJP MP Harshavardhan was beaten badly by angry Public outside a Bank, regarding the Note Ban issue in India. The video does indeed show angry public beating up an elderly man in the presence of police, and there were also the allegations that paid media does not show all that on their channels. But as a matter of fact, the video shows an old incident and the unfortunate politician being beaten up by public is not Delhi BJP MP Harshavardhan, but Subrata Mishra, a BJP leader in West Bengal.
Origin of Video
On 25 November 2016, YouTube channel ‘Laugh Out Loud’ published the video in question mentioning it came from Husen Saifee. Next day Congress politician Manish Tewari posted the video on his Twitter page questioning whether the gentleman at the receiving end of the people’s ire on demonetization could be a Minister of the Union of India:
Who is this gentleman at the receiving end of the people’s ire on demonetisation? Is he by any chance a Minister of the Union of India?Guess pic.twitter.com/VRPGSIb7sW

The video soon went viral on social media sites suggesting that the people in Delhi suffering due to ban of 1000 rupee and 500 rupee notes have unleashed their anger on BJP MP Harshavardhan.
In its YouTube description ‘Laugh Out Loud’ channel mentions ‘Fun Unlimited’ and we have seen they have been posting funny and satirical videos that are not all real. After the video became popular, Dr. Harsha Vardhan, the Indian Union Minister of Science & Technology, Earth Sciences took to his Twitter page and cleared that the man in the video is not him, and that the misleading content is being spread with malicious and mischievous intent:
A video in my name is making rounds on whatsapp and other media.
It’s misleading content being spread with malicious and mischievous intent.

Seen in the video is in fact an incident that happened on 19 October 2016, when the man attacked in the video, Subrata Mishra, a senior local BJP leader from Asansol in West Bengal, was caught walking on the road, allegedly by TMC (Trinamool Congress) workers. You can also see West Bengal written on reflective vest of one of the security officials.
Note, the video in question is also doing rounds with false allegations that BJP MP Babul Supriyo was beaten up badly by angry public due to note ban issue. However, after Subrata Mishra was beaten, Union minister Babul Supriyo, an MP from Asansol, later went to the constituency to show his support, and he too was hit by a stone, allegedly by a TMC worker.
So in short, the politician seen in video being beaten up by public is not Delhi BJP MP Harsha Vardhan, but Subrata Mishra, a BJP leader in West Bengal. And moreover, the incident was allegedly due to local tussle with TMC party workers, not due to note ban issue; the stories claiming so therefore are just hoaxes.
