Story:
(PP)- Friday a White House press release was inadvertently distributed early to news organizations announcing that President Barack Hussein Obama had signed an executive order giving himself a pay raise to $500,000 annually.

Analysis:
Circulating messages talk about a press release inadvertently distributed to news organizations saying that the US President Barack Hussein Obama had signed an executive order which gives him a pay raise of $500,000 annually. It is not a fact.
The origin of these messages appears to be an article on Palookaville Post, which suggests that the US President Obama has given himself a huge pay raise at a time when the federal government is arbitrarily cutting down the services and benefits of officials. But this article was basically a satirical fiction that did not mention actual facts and so went on to create these hoax stories. Subsequently, there was another fictional article on Weekly World news which said Obama issued an executive order raising his salary to $1 million per year. However, the sitting President of United States, by law, cannot give himself a pay raise, and nor can the congress influence the same.
To preserve the president’s independence, Congress can neither raise nor lower the president’s salary during his term. Nor can a president accept any other pay.
Presidential pay raises are generally approved by Congress, and will be effective in the next presidential term.
Hoax or Fact:
Hoax.
