Sobha Singh, a name who had given witness against Bhagat Singh and for this Bhagat Singh was hanged till death. After this event Britishers gave him title as sir. He was also awarded Padma Shri by our respected Government but Bhagat Singh was hanged till death. Even he did not get any recognition from Government. Analysis:
The messages state that Sobha Singh, the same person who had given witness against Bhagat Singh and caused his hang till death, was awarded Padma Shri by the Indian government. This is not a fact, the messages are hoaxes.
As mentioned in the message, Sobha Singh was indeed a witness in the Assembly Bomb Case, who identified the martyrs Bhagat Singh and Batukeshwar Dutt after they threw bombs at the Delhi assembly on June 12, 1929. Subsequently, Bhagat Singh was hanged on 24 March 1931 by the Britishers for the assassination of British police officer John Saunders. But that Sobha Singh was a civil contractor and a prominent builder in Delhi who lived from 1890 to 1978. The Sobha Singh who was awarded Padma Shri by the Government of India in 1983 was not him, but a well known contemporary Painter from Indian Punjab who lived from 1901 to 1986.
The same name of Sobha Singh and that they lived in almost same time span could have led to this confusion. Sobha Singh who was a witness against Bhagat Singh was NOT awarded Padma Shri by the Indian Government. The message need not be shared.
