Certain stories that went viral on social media claimed to show Vijay Mallya Paid 35 Crore to BJP in Cheque; to Escape from India. It is said that Modi led BJP Government helped Vijay Mallya run away from India looting Indian banks. No, as explained below, the claims are not true.

Has Vijay Mallya Paid 35 Crore to BJP to Escape from India?

According to the allegation, Vijay Mallya donated 35 Crore rupees Cheque to BJP party fund. However, a close examination of the Cheque will reveal it is nothing but fake. Firstly, you can see ‘Bharatiya Janata Party’ spelled wrong on Cheque, ‘Bhartiya Janta Party’ written instead. The signature of Vijay Mallya seen in the cheque is also fake (see image below). Moreover, just above the fake signature, you can see the AXIS Bank cheque is actually – For Glamour Steels Private Limited. In addition, the date you see on the cheque is 8 November 2016; much later after Vijay Mallya left India in March 2016.

Vijay Mallya left India after many financial scandals and controversies. Even if he wanted to donate or pay money to BJP party fund, it is unlikely he would pay it openly with a cheque like that. So, the claims that Vijay Mallya paid 35 Crore to BJP in cheque, to Escape from India are simply hoaxes.
