Various stories doing rounds online since few months for now claim that the notorious American criminal Charles Manson was found dead in his Prison Cell at the age of 80. No, the claims are not facts.

Origin of Claims

On 15 May 2015, an article on United Media Publishing website unitedmediapublishing.com came with a story that 80-year-old Charles Manson was found unresponsive in his cell and was pronounced dead after medics worked to revive the prisoner to no avail. However, no credible media outlets have reported any such incident about Charles Manson. While the United Media Publishing website does not have any disclaimer information as of this writing, some of its other articles suggest that they do publish work of fiction and fake news.

Again on 14 September 2015, another article on Breaking 13 News website breaking13news.com came up with yet another story saying Charles Manson was found dead in his Prison with a slit throat after he committed suicide. Back then the story became a trending topic on Twitter. But again, no credible media outlets reported of any such incident, and the website Breaking 13 News has a history of publishing fake news stories.

As of this writing, Charles Manson is serving a life-sentence and has been in prison for more than 40 years. So the stories saying he was found dead in his prison cell are simply hoaxes. Another story about him in past said Charles Manson was Granted Parole by the California Board of Parole and authorized by California Governor Jerry Brown.
