The picture story in question appeared widely on social media sites like Facebook, Twitter and some online sports outlets among others. It surfaced online in regional Indian languages like Hindi and others. However, there are no credible news reports about the Star Cricketer Chris Gayle Campaigning for BJP prior Lok Sabha polls.
The picture of Chris Gayle associated with the story comes from a different context. It is in fact an old one from April 2018 where Chris Gayle is promoting Manyavar clothing collection. Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag and others were also part of it. Manyavar shared the picture on Facebook mentioning Indian Premier League Cricket Team Kings XI Punjab superheroes. Notably, the original picture of Chris Gayle does not have the saffron Tilak on his forehead.
