There are no verifiable records or news about any 179 years old man named Mashashta Murasi in India. In fact, the story is derived from an old, Feb. 2014 article published in worldnewsdailyreport.com, a website known for generating fake news. The article states that the amazing Mashashta Murasi, a retired cobbler from northern India, was born in January 1835, making him the oldest man to have ever lived on earth, according to the Guinness World Records. However, the disclaimer information of the website World News Daily Report clearly includes, “All news articles contained within worldnewsdailyreport.com are fiction, and presumably fake news.

The record for the longest confirmed human lifespan is held by Jeane Calment of France (21 February 1875 – 4 August 1997), who lived to the age of 122 years and 164 days.
