Analysis:
The email messages in various versions claim that the users can win free Sony Ericsson laptops by simply forwarding the email to certain number of people. They say the company is giving away the laptops to users in order to promote their products and increase sales. No, the claims are not facts, the emails are just hoaxes.
The claim in the email messages does not make proper sense, because in general, a branded company like Sony Ericsson does not give away a laptop to users for simple forwarding of an email. It should also be noted that Ericsson T18 and Ericsson R320 mentioned in the email are not laptops; they are actually mobile phones that are discontinued. The other versions of email claim that Ericsson is giving away free laptops to match with its competitor Nokia, but even Nokia Company has never given away free laptops to email forwarders like this.
These hoax emails are actually modified versions of Free Ericsson Phone emails circulating online since 2000, where in ‘Anna Swelund’ was mentioned as the Executive Promotion Manager for Ericsson Marketing. The Ericsson Company then mentioned on their website that these emails are fraud and that they are not going to promote their products through chain e-mails. Lately, these hoax emails also came up with brand names of other companies like Sony Vaio and Dell laptops.

So these emails claiming to give away free Ericsson laptops are simply hoaxes. Emails like these generally come from pranksters, so forwarding them to others will do no good.
Hoax or Fact:
Hoax.
