Certain ‘creepy’ stories doing rounds online with a picture since 2015 purport to show that a woman caught a scary Ghostly figure on her Cellphone camera while she was taking Selfies for her Boyfriend. No, as described below, the paranormal claims are not facts.
According to one version of the story, when a German woman, who is fond of selfies, was taking pictures in her home, a dark zombie like ghostly figure appeared in the background of her picture. The happiness of taking selfies is described to have turned into horror.
Selfie from Hell Video
There’s also a video titled “Selfie from Hell” that actually shows the alleged incident. For the first time, the woman shrugs off the ghostly appearance in her selfie picture, only to confirm later and horrify herself in her home. At the end of the video, the ‘zombie ghost’ is also shown attacking the woman.
Horror Short Film, Not Ghost
The related video linked to the story in question was uploaded to YouTube back on 9 August 2015 in Film & Animation Category. It does not show any ghost or zombie capture, and is in fact a horror short film titled ‘Selfie from Hell’ that combined the two popular concepts – snapping selfies and The Walking Dead. The YouTube channel that uploaded the short film video is named after Zombie and the team making the videos comprises of storytellers and filmmakers whose goal is to entertain people.
Therefore the viral picture and video allegedly showing a woman capturing a scary Ghostly figure on her Cellphone camera while she was taking Selfies for her Boyfriend are hoaxes; they are simply part of a horror short film.
