The story in question originated from an article on BreakingNews247.net website titled “Massive alligator found in Browns Mills, New Jersey“. The jaw-dropping huge alligator lifted by a farm tractor created an impression the story is real. However, BreakingNews247.net is an entertainment website, where users create prank stories. Likewise, the same message appears in disclaimer-about information at the bottom of their website.

Alligator Picture from Old Incident in Florida
The massive American alligator picture used in story actually comes from an old incident in Florida which happened in early April 2016. Two hunters, the owner of Outwest Farms in Okeechobee, Lee Lightsey and his guide Blake Godwin discovered the massive alligator in one of their cattle ponds. As a matter of fact, they shot and killed the gator and used a farm tractor to pull it to shore. The hunters in this case said the American alligator was 15 feet long and weighed 800 pounds, adding it was the largest they have ever found. They also said they determined the gator was attacking their livestock and eating cattle.
So, the claim about finding of Massive alligator in Browns Mills, New Jersey is a hoax message coming from a prank website. Hunters shot and killed the huge gator in Florida, earlier in 2016.
