The story originated from a 30 September 2014 article published in the website BigAmericanNews.com with similar title saying Obama is infecting Christians with Ebola to destroy Jesus so that a new age of liberal darkness can rise in America. This story is taken by few other websites and that is how it became popular online.
Claims in Article
The article in website of Big American News states that Obama has used genetics to manufacture a powerful, evolved form of Ebola virus that causes the infected human body to bleed to death in a week and links to a news article about a Dallas patient confirmed to have infected with Ebola virus. The story also comes with a picture supposedly showing Obama staring at the new EBOLA-virus through a microscope.
Facts
The Big American News Media, which boasts itself as ‘built upon the principles of fearless reporting, loudly yelled opinions and facts proudly born of raw gut instinct‘, has in fact used an unrelated picture in their story. Shown in the picture, actually, is Obama looking at brain cells through a microscope during a laboratory tour with Health & Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius at the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Maryland, back on 30 September 2009. The website has been publishing many other hoax articles like ‘Africa Confirms 3rd Ebola Victim Rises From the Dead, Releases Picture of First “Ebola Zombie” Captured’.
Funny enough, the article also states that B.O. in EBOLA stands for Barack Obama, and goes on to say the Ebola virus is a control mechanism designed by him to destroy Christianity in America. It is even said that the US government already has the cure for Ebola virus disease, but Obama ‘controls’ it. However, as of this writing, there is no proven treatment available for Ebola Virus Disease; although a range of potential treatments are currently being evaluated.
To conclude, the stories saying US President Barack Obama is infecting Christians with an evolved form of Ebola virus to destroy Jesus and start a new age of liberal darkness is simply a hoax that originated from an article in an unreliable website.
