Apart from the claims saying the Parle G poster girl is Niru Deshpande, couple of other names too were associated to her. Some versions said the kid featured on the cover of Parle-G biscuits is Sudha Murthy, wife of N.R. Narayan Murthy, the founder of Infosys. Other versions, allegedly appeared on Parle G’s Wikipedia page and said the Parle-G girl’s name is Gunjan Gundaniya.

Not Niru Deshpande or Any Other Girl

The claim saying the Parle-G girl is Niru Deshpande became popular after it appeared in a local newspaper in India. Interestingly, some versions of the story also said a businessman in Nagpur married the Parle-G girl Niru Deshpande. Allegedly, her father took the picture when she was just 4 years 3 months old.

Despite the popular claims, the cute little kid featured on the cover of Parle-G biscuits is not Niru Deshpande or any other girl. A group product manager at Parle Products, Mayank Shah revealed the kid is not even real. Everest creative Maganlal Daiya created the illustration picture of the cute little girl back in the 1960s.
