Analysis:
A video frequently shared online claims to show U.S. Secret Service agents practicing advanced reverse escape techniques – featuring in a Presidential Cadillac limo that drifts backwards at very high speed around a circular track. Some people actually thought what is shown in the video could be a fact, but it isn’t.
The aforementioned video and claims became popular online after the story was posted on Vomitorium Facebook page on 10 March 2016 and garnered millions of views. U.S. Secret Service agents are certainly trained for tactical driving as a part of their course, but the footage in question, however, originates from a racing video game called Forza Motorsport 6 uploaded by Don Joewon Song, a YouTuber dedicated to Forza Motorsport. As shown in the video above uploaded to YouTube in ‘Gaming’ category on 8 Mar 2016, the introduction of the game in the video and the (light, funny) description of the YouTube video mentioned below clearly indicate that it is video game footage, and therefore does not show any secret service agents practicing for emergency reverse escape:
