Fact Check:

Viral messages doing rounds on social media, WhatsApp and image sharing websites allege to show Bollywood celebrities Ranbir Kapoor & Alia Bhatt’s Wedding Invitation. It claims to show the grand occasion is going to take place on 22nd January 2020 at Jodhpur, Rajasthan. No, the claims are not true – the invitation is fake.

Ranbir and Alia Wedding Invitation Fake

Bollywood celebrities Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are said to be dating each other for some time. The card doing rounds heavily is allegedly an invitation for their Sagan, which is basically a pre-wedding ceremony in January 2020. The wedding invitation card, although looks aesthetically good, has errors clearly indicating it is not real. It shows Alia’s name misspelled as ‘Aliya’ and the date shown as 22th January instead of 22nd. While Alia’s father is filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, it shows her uncle Mukesh Bhatt as her father. On the other hand, there are no credible reports of their wedding or any related ceremony.

Coming to the photograph of Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt appearing in a wedding scene, it is in fact an edited photograph made by a fan. When media persons asked about the wedding card doing rounds on social media, the actress Alia Bhatt laughed away, shaking her head and saying no.
