Secret Hack To Get Headphone Jack on the iPhone 7: Video
Analysis:
A video that went viral online purports to show owners of new iPhone 7 or 7 Plus a ‘secret hack’ to make a DIY headphone jack. We warn users not to try the weird drilling method described in the video, simply because it is a hoax.

On 17 September 2016 YouTube user TechRax published the video in question with the title “Secret Hack To Get Headphone Jack on the iPhone 7“. In the video he mentions that the latest iPhone 7 lacks the usual headphone jack available in earlier versions of iPhone and demonstrates a simple “secret hack” for the owners who don’t want to get $159 wireless airpods or have to insert headphones into an adapter every time to listen to music. The alleged trick – is to drill a 3.5mm hole into the iPhone just like that – and plug in your headphone to play your favorite music. As bizarre as it sounds, the “secret hack” for making a headphone jack in iPhone 7 just won’t work, what’s demonstrated in the video is a bad prank and a hoax. Unfortunately, from the YouTube comments, it appears like few users have fallen for the prank and spoiled their new iPhones. So we request users not to drill a hole in their new iPhone 7. This reminds us of an old hoax story that said you can charge your iPhone by Microwaving it.
