Many videos (like the first video) circulating online ever since the Apple Icon Steve Jobs passed away claimed to show that he died after collapsing during his last meeting. Today, let us analyze if there is any grain of truth in it.

The American entrepreneur Steve Jobs died on 5 October 2011 and these videos came up soon after that. The video below was uploaded to YouTube the very next day. The YouTube user who uploaded the video has only one other video in his channel, also uploaded in Oct 2011, and shows FIFA 12 Gameplay. More importantly, as you can see at the end of the video, it comes from TheFinalEdition.com, a website that publishes humor and satirical content. As mentioned in their About page, their work is “Satire with teeth” and “The Huffington Post on nitrous oxide“.

Steve Jobs in fact died of pancreatic cancer resulting in respiratory arrest — in his home at Palo Alto, California. An old interview of Steve Jobs is actually edited and photoshopped to create the fake footage of his collapse in a meeting/interview. As you can watch in the original Steve Jobs’ D8 interview with Kara Swisher and Walt Mossberg, which runs for more than 90 minutes, it does not have any such clip.
