Analysis:
The messages that appear online talk about the “The Television Ghost” show in America claiming it as the first show to Feature Dead People who narrate their own murder stories. Although the intention of the Television ghost show was to portray the same, the claims as such are not facts.
The Television Ghost is believed to be one of the first dramatic television series in the world. It was broadcasted from 1931 to 1933 by W2XAB New York City, an experimental TV station of Columbia Broadcasting System. The concept of the show was to portray ghosts telling their own murder stories. George Kelting used to act as the ghost, wearing ghastly white make-up and a towel draped over his head. He used to narrate horror stories as in a monologue, while each episode of the show lasted for 15 minutes. Because of technical limitations in those days, the visual effects were not great, so the camera used to show only head part of George Kelting. The ghost show only featured ‘talking heads’, which probably created an impression that it could be real ghosts talking. There are no video recordings of the show now; the only documents remaining are few photographs.
In short, The Television Ghost is just a show made around ghost concept, but does not feature any real ghosts. So the claim of dead people telling their own murder stories in the show is hoax.
