A video in heavy circulation online, especially on social media platforms, claims to show Scott Sterling take on the world of volleyball with only his face! The video became so popular that a part clip of it even spread in GIF form. However, what are shown in the first video as the best volleyball blocks ever with Scott Sterling are not real.
The video clip showing a match between men’s teams from UNC and Yale, in which Scott Sterling is shown blocking volleyballs with his face in all weird ways appeared in April 2016 from YouTube channel of Studio C, which as a matter of fact is a television sketch comedy show produced in Utah by BYUtv. While some people thought the volleyball blocks with face could be real, they did not notice the YouTube video is listed in Comedy Category. Scott Sterling, moreover, is a fictional sports personality who appears in a number of comedy sketches for Studio C. Their most popular video, as of this writing, is “Top Soccer Shootout Ever With Scott Sterling” published in Nov 2014, which again shows Scott Sterling blocking five penalty kicks with his face. You can see it in the video below.
So the videos showing Scott Sterling take on the world of volleyball with only his face, and the ones showing him blocking soccer penalty kicks with his face are simply comic creations; they are not facts.
