A ‘surprising’ message circulating on WhatsApp presents users a Big Billion Days Spin The Lucky Wheel offer where they get 1 free spin to allegedly win exclusive prizes. The messages come through a friend on WhatsApp enticing user to click through a link coming with it. In order to test, when we clicked the link, we were taken to the website offering us one free spin today for a chance to win exclusive prizes. The wheel showed images of gaming console, watch, shoes and headphones among others. In between there are also images suggesting ‘no luck’ in spin to win a prize. When we clicked to ‘Spin’ the wheel, strangely, a message popped up saying we won 1 Free Extra Spin! Spinning the wheel again showed a message suggesting we won a prize of Samsung Galaxy S8 (screenshot images above). However, before we can claim the prize we were asked to follow instructions and tell about the ‘Big Billion Days’ to 5 WhatsApp groups or 15 friends. Note, this is a common practice employed by scammers on WhatsApp.

As you can see in the images below, we tested the offer on web version of WhatsApp as well and ended up seeing no actual prize to win. We have also seen the Facebook comments plugin on the home page of the website is fake. It’s all just a tricky means of spreading and spamming the fake message on WhatsApp. So, the Big Billion Days Spin The Lucky Wheel offer you see on WhatsApp is simply a hoax and a scam.

It’s also possible, the click through process in the offer may install unwanted software on your mobile without your knowledge. Therefore, we suggest users to employ caution in such lucrative offers and be careful before forwarding the message to others.
